Sick of making flash cards? Want to speed up your studying?
Have we got the tool for you!
Learning Tools
Step 1:
Download lecture note pdf PDF and convert to TXT using online convertor of your choice.
My recommendation https://cloudconvert.com/pdf-to-txt

Step 2:
Modify TXT to remove prof name, pages numbers, and learning goals.

Step 3:
Copy your TXT file and using ChatGPT 3.5 use the following command...
"Please study this text document:
{paste TXT}"
You should expect ChatGPT too regurgitate a summary of the information you sent .

Step 4:
Enter the following prompt:
"Using the document above, generate a .txt file I can upload to anki. This file should take the above information and create anki cloze fill-in-the-blank format for key words and definitions. All cloze terms must be denoted by "c1". Please delete all subject heading lines. Create new sentences to separate the information into digestible chunks suitable for flash cards."

You should expect ChatGPT too regurgitate a wall of code text that you can copy and paste into a TXT file.

Step 5:
Review the code text. Every lien should contain a cloze term or definition, if that is not the case sending further prompts such as:
"Please ensure each line has a cloze term or is denoted in term:definition format"
may get your document to where you want it to be.

Still not happy?
Open a new session and repeat steps 3-5. You may be surprised that it won't always be the same and some iterations are better than others.
